Abstract

The agreements made after the First World War helped to defend the interests of the defeated states instead of maintaining peace and laid the groundwork for the Second World War. Japan seized Korea and China in the Far East, becoming the US's largest competitor in the Pacific. Due to the reparations borrowed by the Entente States with the Treaty of Versailles, the German economy came to the sinking point and unemployment reached the highest level in the country and the country entered its worst period of economic, political and social history. Having entered a heavy political and economic crisis with the Versailles Treaty, Germany, with the advent of Adolf Hitler in 1933, has left a great tension on the ongoing peace environment in Europe. The insecurity of Italy towards France and England, and the fact that Benito Mussolini moved with Germany in anticipation of the revival of Ancient Rome. Britain thought that the main danger for Hitler was the USSR by applying a "soothing policy" against Germany's aggressive stance resulting from the Versailles Agreement.
