Abstract

Manisa, the city of the princes, has many rich cultural and material values in history. The Manisa manuscripts comes the first culturel material among the these values. These manuscripts were gathered from the area such as Akhisar, Kırkağaç, Soma, Gördes, Demirci and mosque, madrasah in the center. Today, these manuscripts are kept in the Manisa manuscripts library. There are approximately 14850 books with printed books before the alphabet revolution. The library which has a rich collection, contains many subjects such as medicine, literature, astrology, religious sciences, mysticism. These works are specific in terms of subjects, as well as book arts such as calligraphy, illumination and bookbinding. İn this study, it was made a general evaluation about bookbindings located in Manisa manuscripts library. And İn addition some manuscripts are given as an example If they are’nt repaired they can not survive.
