Comparison of Cellular Production and Serial Production in Ready-Made Clothing Industry (Men's Shırt Example)

Abstract

The product, which is the most important output of production systems in the ready-to-wear sector, is the element that can be seen and measured. The ability to create this element in a certain system can only be produced in a planned manner with the determined production systems. The implementation of the cellular production system, which is one of the systems used in the sector, in large-scale ready-to-wear enterprises is considered important for businesses to keep their market shares in balance, to develop new strategies in times of crisis and to transition to new situations. In the mass production system, this situation; It was accelerated with the machine and band system developed specifically for the product to be produced. The purpose of this system is to minimize the manpower, to eliminate the time problem in production and to maximize efficiency. In this study, the work flow chart of the men's shirt, one of the locomotives of the ready-to-wear industry, is tabulated with both the cellular production system and the mass production system, and similar and different aspects are revealed
