Abstract

Historical sociology aims to carry out accurate social analysis by a joint study of history and sociology and to take into consideration all factors making history. Historical sociology which began to be developed gradually at the end of 19. century; has began its main development at the end of II. World War and gained a momentum in 1960s in the world. Based on the investigation on the reasons of this order and continuity formation would make easier the understanding of social principles and process; the historical sociology makes effort to analyze historical facts correctly. Therefore; it adopts a problem focused historiography and uses comparative method to determine the similarities and differences between social facts and procedures as well. As the comparative history improves in terms of methodology, it has brought perspective to history and has potentiated the analysis. While the interest on comparative history increases in the world within development process; in Turkey social history has come to the forefront with the effect of Annales ecole and as for comparative history evenly could not be a focus of interest. This study aims to present the comparative history’s development process and the general framework regarding its status in Turkey.
