Abstract

Anatolia has been the center of living and living off various communities in every period of history due to its important geopolitical position, favorable climate, wide agricultural lands, suitable Meadows and pastures for animal husbandry, high mountains, and forests, precious metals, numerous rivers, and lakes. One of the communities that lived on fertile Anatolian lands is the Hittites. The Hittite state, which founded the first political organization on Anatolian soil, left a large number of cuneiform tablets in various fields such as law, medicine, pharmacy, fortune, and magic. These tablets uncovered in the Hittite settlements in central Anatolia are very few of the information about the daily life of the Hittite people. The legal texts of the Hittite state constitute a part of the inscriptions contained in the articles of the law, which are the basic sources of livelihood of the people are agricultural and agricultural items. In this study, general information about the value of agricultural products in the articles of the Hittite law, various penalties applied in the damage to agricultural products, Hittite legislators of Agriculture and agricultural products perspectives on the information will be tried to be presented.
