A STUDY TO DETERMINE THE SERVANT LEADERSHIP LEVELS OF TEACHING STAFF FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF STUDENTS: A STATE UNIVERSITY SAMPLE

"Servant Leadership Understanding" has become an ideal leadership style in academic life, and especially in teaching staff-student relations, which has led to its followers and has become a servant lifestyle that moves with them. In this study, the "Servant Leadership Scale" developed by Robert Steven Dennis (2004) and the "Servant Leadership" level of the teaching staff of the state university were examined in terms of the students taught by them. In this context, the universe of research has included five faculties and an institute which have had 9770 students in a public university in Turkey. As a sample, the questionnaire forms were distributed to 465 senior students and the obtained data were evaluated by using SPSS 21.0 program. The seven dimensions of servant leadership adopted for the study are social and etchical love, humility, altruism, vision, trust, empowerment and service were used to research the behaviors of teaching staff.
