Abstract

In parallel globalizing world with the liberalized international trade, the increase in competition and gaining weight of organizations on a global scale increased the transportation distances of the products and consequently the importance of speed factor. This increased the importance of low cost and timely delivery of raw materials and processed products to buyers, in other words, the importance of logistics services. In an ever-expanding global economy with increasingly widespread e-commerce, building effective networks has become the key to success for companies that do not want to lose their competitiveness. Therefore, it is important for countries to compare their logistic performances with other countries and as a result, in which areas they should make improvements. The Logistics Performance Index (LPI), published every two years by the World Bank, has become an important data for countries to compare with each other. The purpose of this study, using data that LPI what factors might affect Turkey's logistics performance and negatively impact performance is especially highway logistics to the need to area which is to be examined.
